STUDENT COUNCIL 2019-2020 (only 5th grade) Sponsors:  Mrs. Lamonica & Ms. Bettler

What is student council? Student council is a great way of becoming an active member of the school and community. It provides a forum where 5th graders can be leaders and have a say in the activities here at pvpv- rawlings! It is a great way to meet and collaborate with other students, show school spirit, and have fun!

what does student council do? Student council participates in many activities throughout the school year such as holiday food drives, “bag it up” clothing drive with goodwill, and the spring carnival.   Last year, council members became rawlings ambassadors and helped new students feel a little more at ease when they enrolled at rawlings. These are just a few of the many activities our council is a part of!

Student council officers President – leads meetings with the assistance of the student council sponsors; serves in various leadership roles throughout the year and helps plan and lead special activities

Officers continued… Vice president - works very closely with the president and assists in many duties. The vice president also stands in for the president when necessary. Secretary - responsible for recording minutes and keeping records of meetings, activities, and fundraisers done by the council;  should be organized and like to write Historian – responsible for keeping and protecting school camera;  takes pictures at all student council events and activities

How do you join student council? Be accepted through the application process and written essay (a rubric will be used to determine those who qualify to run for an elected office) Maintain excellent behavior which includes no office or bus referrals Attend scheduled meetings Be willing to have fun and work hard to make our school and community a better place!
