Christ’s Mission is larger than us. We get to do it together!

The General Mission Challenge

For 2019, 16 churches took the challenge and increased their general mission giving. Ankeny Centerville, First Clive, Heartland DM, Douglas Avenue DM, First Dexter, First Diagonal, United Greenfield, First Grinnell, First Lenox, United LeRoy, First Lucas, First Perry, First Sigourney, First WDM, Covenant Windsor Heights, Windsor

Thank you so very much for your generosity!

The challenge this year? Join these 16 churches and increase your church’s General Mission giving for 2020 by ½ percent of your congregation’s current annual budget.

How do we figure that? Write down your church’s total budget amount. Scratch out the last two numbers. Divide what’s left by 2.

Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving Example #1 Church Budget: $400,000 Take off last 2 numbers: $4,000 Divide by 2: $2,000 Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving by $2,000 for next year?

Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving Example #2 Church Budget: $150,000 Take off last 2 numbers: $1,500 Divide by 2: $750 Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving by $750 for next year?

Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving Example #3 Church Budget: $50,000 Take off last 2 numbers: $500 Divide by 2: $250 Would you consider increasing your General Mission giving by $250 for next year?

Would you consider increasing your church’s General Mission giving for 2020 by ½ percent of your congregation’s budget?

Fall Schedule: Receive email in September sent to clerks and pastors with brochure and pledge form Consider pledge and vote on it at October session meeting. Return 2020 pledge form to Presbytery Office by November 1, 2019

For the 2019 giving to General Mission from your churches – For the 2019 giving to General Mission from your churches – Bless you and thank you! And for your consideration of a General Mission pledge for the coming 2020 year – Thank you all!

Christ’s Mission is larger than us. We get to do it together!

Let’s show where our hearts are Let’s show where our hearts are! Let’s share in the work of the whole church! Let’s do Christ’s mission together!
