Adjust the headings and content on this poster template to accommodate the guidelines. Words in each section should be a consistent size not smaller than 20 font, Use left alignment throughout. Title of Poster Authors Department / Division, Advocate Children’s Hospital Abstract Case Description Discussion/Conclusions Follow the guidelines for the conference/meeting where the poster will be presented. Some organizations request that the abstract be included on the poster. If the poster space is too tight, and it is not required, leave the abstract off the poster. Suggested headings for a case report: Background, Objective, Methods, Description, Discussion The case description should include the pertinent information about this case. Be consistent with your objective and methods. Patient presentation/examination Pertinent labs and images Consider whether you should include family history, social history Use tables, graphs or charts to illustrate the information. Refer to the table or figure number in text. Include a clear title and legends/descriptions for each figure. Conclusion section highlight the take-home point brought up by the case. Do not repeat the same information from the case description section, instead create summary statements. Include information from the literature that compares to the interesting or unique aspects of the case. Define the implications of this case for pediatric practice. Point out any social or ethical considerations unique to your patient and the involvement of multidisciplinary team members. Include limitations and recommendations for future research needs. Depending on the space you have on your poster, and the conference guidelines you may need to include either the conclusion or discussion section or separate the information into two sections. Optional Photo or Graphic Optional Photo or Graphic Background/Introduction (choose one heading term) This section should include background information about your case. Highlight the unique aspect of the case or the novel insight into pathophysiology, diagnosis or treatment. The format of the background can be in paragraph form or individual bulleted statements. Figure 3. Description of the figure content, include statistical significance if applicable. Optional Table or Graphic Optional Photo or Graphic Objective The objective should be included directly after the introduction. Be specific and clear about the purpose of using a case study approach to introduce the topic. Table/Figure 1. Description of the figure content, include statistical significance if applicable. Methods/Approach (choose one heading) This section may need to start or run over into next column because of space – adjust accordingly. For a case report, this section may include the following content: (subheadings are encouraged) Review of Literature Similar cases Research related to condition Clinical features Diagnosis Treatments Optional Photo or Graphic Optional Photo or Graphic Acknowledgements Acknowledge team members, hospital staff, including nurses, residents, fellows, office staff and/or mentor who provide ancillary or intermittent care but who do not make a direct and significant contribution to the clinical data. Figure 4. Description of the figure content, include statistical significance if applicable. Figure 2. Description of the figure content, include statistical significance if applicable. References Include this section if space on poster permits. Include only key references listed or used for the introduction.
