Welcome Back Region 16 2019-2020 Systems Thinking: Instead of focusing on individual issues, a systems thinking approach shares and helps in observing the results of an entire system. Stakeholders understand every action and all consequences are correlated to one another. Michael P. Yamin, Superintendent of Schools

In 28 years realized less is more…. I Believe: Region 16 Staff is our most valued resource… Professional Learning should be embedded and on-going… Teaching and Learning needs to be personalized/individualized to engage students… Cultivating a culture that is collaborative, supportive, and safe for all students and staff is our priority in Region 16… Promoting socially, emotionally, and academically healthy students is critical to the development of all our students…. District Strategic Plan School Improvement Plans Theory of Action Welcome Letters/Memos

Region 16 Initiative's Social Emotional Learning Program K-5 RULER program 6-12 Choose Love Learning Pathway (s) at Woodland STEM pathway (2019-20) Health pathway ( 2020-21) Personalizing and individualizing teaching and learning to meet the needs of all students Intervention Block at Elementary schools Flexible at Middle School

Historically over the last 4 years Successes Increased non-certified & certified staff in the area of special education, interventionists, pupil personnel, and electives for our schools and students Invested over 4 million dollars in renovations and improvements to our schools and the classroom environments Realized an increase of approximately 7% in overall performance on smarter balance scores Region 16 has moved from the bottom 3rd of our DRG to first in math and 4th in ELA in the State assessment of high school students Fiscally responsible in achieving this and much more with less than a 1% increase in our budget over the last 4 years.
