UT Tyler Scholarships The University of Texas at Tyler offers many scholarships designed to attract and retain outstanding degree-seeking students. Students may not receive more than one academic scholarship award from the university each semester. Scholarships may require a “Letter of Appreciation” to be completed before funds can be disbursed.

Scholarship Search Tips Scholarship Scams Applying for legitimate scholarships does NOT cost money Do not give out personal information until you have verified that scholarship organization is legitimate Legitimate organizations will not guarantee a scholarship Be aware of “Limited Time Offers” - Legitimate scholarship organizations will not pressure students to apply. All scholarships will have some type of eligibility requirements. Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You – Legitimate organizations will provide contact information

Exemptions & Waivers Exemptions are a type of financial assistance allowing certain Texas residents to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition, or in some cases, tuition and fees. Waivers pertain to certain students who are not Texas residents.
