How can we help?  In our guide we present different methods of searching and explain what can be seen on the computer screen.  Search paths are mainly similar. Each part of the guide provides examples of how you can find the book you need.  We do not show every possibility: our guide is meant mainly for beginners. WHY should we start searching from an on-line catalogue? In the card catalogue there are no catalogue records for items received after 1997. There are no call numbers (Library of Congress Classification) in card catalogues. Thus, you can not find a book in the open stacks. In the on-line catalogue you can check the location of the book and, if it is checked out, you can reserve it. You can now order books and serials available in the Reading Room and at the Circulation Desk directly from the on-line catalogue Previous page Next page
