Work Experience 2020 Year 10

Population 1 15th -19th June 2020 Population 2 22nd -26th June 2020

What placement can I do? Firstly, start to think, “What do I want to do?”. The whole experience should be something you would like to do. You need to start thinking of a career that you may like to do in the future that you would like to try out. Think of things you are interested in, not what your friends are doing or what people are telling you to do.

Why WEX? To get a taste of‘ your intended/chosen career’ Gain valuable employability skills. Find out what Employers are looking for. Experience for your future Apprenticeship/Job. Experience towards your CV. Entry to University courses. Helps you to start your career plan. You can talk about this in interviews. Possibility of a Saturday job/part time job, if you impress.

Why WEX? it will improve your social skills, including communication skills and listening skills. It will improve your emotional wellbeing and confidence. It will provide evidence of your skills and knowledge for Sixth form/College/Training applications, Higher Education applications for job application forms and interviews

Work Experience Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals > Work for Us > The Learning Works > Work Experience We welcome applications for the next academic year – September 2017 to July 2018. The Trust is keen to promote an early, active interest in careers within the NHS. The Learning Works therefore offers students a work experience scheme at the age of 14 and above. Pupils have an opportunity to discover what working life is like in the healthcare sector. The work experience programme offers a flexible range of options – from a one-day taster session up to two weeks, and covers all of the working disciplines that the Trust has to offer. Opportunities for work experience include (among many others): Healthcare – working in a ward area Administrative & clerical Estates – grounds and building maintenance Therapists Facilities – catering, portering, cleaning and maintenance, driving services Marketing & Communications All work experience candidates will be fully supervised, providing assistance that is appropriate to their age and experience. Needless to say, pupils will never be exposed to anything harmful. However, they will gain a valuable insight into the potential for a wide range of careers within the Trust. The Learning Works is actively promoting these opportunities to schools career officers across the region. Schools can contact us directly with regards to securing work experience opportunities with the Trust.
