Building Memorials to Remember Joshua 4: 1 – 24

HOW GOOD IS YOUR MEMORY?

“Be careful that you do not FORGET the Lord” Deuteronomy 6: 12 “Be careful that you do not FORGET the Lord”

God knows we often FORGET what He has done! Hebrew word for Memorial is “To Remember”

Let’s Go Back to Joshua “Cross over before the Ark… each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder” Joshua 4: 5 - 6

Let’s Go Back to Joshua “This may be a sign among you when your children ask, “what do these stones mean? ”

What do these stones mean? 1. A time to remember God’s Blessings! Two Points: 1. A time to remember God’s Blessings!

The stones were meant to remind those present to share what they Saw… Heard… Felt!

The stones were meant to Trigger memories of places, times in life, where you Saw… Heard… Experienced… God!

A few personal “Stones” that trigger memories of God Incidents and Blessings.

to Reflect on His Blessings? How often do we sit down to Share, to Listen, to Reflect on His Blessings?

What do these Stones Mean? Second Point: 2. A time of Letting Go Defeats and Trusting Jesus for New Beginnings.

What do these Stones Mean? Second Point: 2. A time of Letting Go Defeats and Trusting Jesus for New Beginnings.

“On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal. Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones” Joshua 4: 19 – 20

Here is what is so fascinating about this precise date… It is EXACTLY 40 years to the day Israel marched out of Egypt!

Gilgal means… “The Reproach has been rolled away!”

Memorial stones Stand out as times In our life when God showed up, Changed our direction, And gave us HOPE!

Memorial Stones stand out as a reminder… God Has, HE can, Therefore HE WILL!
