Capstone Design Update Week 9 ECE 4006 – Group 1 Presentation by: Ragad Amin Al-Huq 27 March, 2003

Progress Summary Completed and turned in the first report Built the circuit for the regular design of the transceiver module Tested the receiver and transmitter Started to solder in the parts for the aggressive design

Oops!! might have blown up the PD!! Got confused between the cathode and the anode Grounded the cathode pin of the photodetector Remedy: scratched off the connection between ground and cathode pin, reversed the PD on the board

Transmitter Test Results

However… When constructing the board initially, we soldered in the common cathode VCSEL with the anode going to ground. After we fixed this, no signal was transmitting
