SCHOOL ARRIVAL Have your kids ride the bus if at all possible - it limits the congestion and number of cars around the school. Students arriving before 8:16am will be directed to the courtyard. Students may not enter the building until 8:16am. Buses unload on the Attingham side of the school. There is a car lane there, but you are encouraged to drop car riders on the Vindon side of the school by the gym so as not to block the buses. Pull as far forward as you can Have your kids ready to exit the vehicle quickly

SCHOOL DISMISSAL Students saw a safety video the first day of school illustrating the appropriate means of dismissal. Walkers-Students crossing to go to the Tallowood parking lot MUST go to the corner and cross with the crossing guard. Students crossing at Barryknoll must cross at the stop sign and make sure no cars are coming. Students must be aware of moving cars in the parking lot. BE CAREFUL!

ABSENCES If your student is sick please make sure to call the school's Main Office (713-251-3900) and let us know before 10:00 AM.  Please indicate the student's full legal name, grade, and reason. (There is no need to call if he/she will be coming in late with a medical note/excuse). If your student has to leave campus for a medical appointment, please make sure to sign him/her IN and OUT through the main office and turn in any medical notes, as soon as possible. If you leave a doctor/dentist/ortho office and forgot to ask for a note, you may request them to fax the note to us (713-251-3915).

ABSENCES All other absences require written notification signed and dated (including student's full legal name and reason) and are DUE no later than TWO days upon the students return to campus. Email notifications are also accepted. Please note that some absences may require a confirmation from church, as in the case of a religious observance. If a student is tardy, he must pick up a pass in the office before proceeding to class. Doctors notes are required if missing class due to a medical appointment. Please try to set these appointments when possible before or after school.

LUNCH If bringing lunch to your child - take it to the office. There will be a log book to check it in and your child can pick it up in the office right before their appointed lunch time. 6TH GRADE - 11:01-11:31 7TH GRADE - 11:53 - 12:23 8TH GRADE - 12:45 - 1:15

TEACHER WEBSITES & CHROMEBOOKS Chromebook distribution is scheduled for early October – please turn in Loaner Agreement form and insurance payment!

TUTORIALS/LATE BUS Teachers will offer tutorials before and after school throughout the year. If your child stays, they may take the late bus home at 4:30 pm. The bus will stop at your home elementary school campus. The late bus only runs Monday thru Thursday. Tutorial times will be set by the teachers and are generally announced in class.

PEER GROUP MEETINGS Peer Group Meetings are scheduled throughout the year and are a great opportunity to learn what is going on in your grade. Spring Peer Group Meetings will address curriculum for the coming year. Your grade level counselor will attend to answer questions. Generally held during lunch in the Library - BYO sack lunch Upcoming dates – September/early October TBD
