Review

What’s Slope got to do with it? Have you noticed that the Absolute Value Functions are really two rays? A ray is part of a line. It has an endpoint and continues in one direction forever. Basically, an Absolute Value Function is part of two linear functions put together. So… how does the slope of the decreasing side of the Absolute Value Function relate to the slope of the increasing side?

Partner up! Using your graphic organizers from yesterday, work with your learning partner to complete the 12 problems. As you work, discuss how the slope on the left compares with the slope on the right.

EXIT TICKET What did you discover about the slope of the left and right sides of an Absolute Value Function? Answer this on the bottom of your Graphic Organizer from yesterday.
