Designer An engineer or technician who is creative, inventive, and has a technical specialty

Level of technology Classification according to an industry’s level of engineering Examples: Low tech--lawnmower manufacturer, medium tech--ditch digging manufacturer, and high tech--aircraft manufacturer

Manufacturing design Design of tools, fixtures, and machines for manufacturing a product Examples: Tool designer, machine designer

Mechanical CAD drafting The drafting of mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD and/or a drafting board so that a manufacturing process can efficiently produce a product

Mechanical designer A technician or engineering specialist who works in either product design and/or manufacturing design

Technological team Craftworkers, technicians, technologists, engineers, and scientists organized as a group to solve complex technical problems in a manufacturing environment

Technologist A specialist in details of technically solving an engineering problem; works as a liaison between engineers and technicians Example: Normally called an applications engineer
