Chapter 5 Reading Questions: Answer on a separate sheet of paper 1. Describe the meeting between Gatsby and Daisy. Why was he so nervous? 2. How long did it take Gatsby to make the money to buy the mansion? What does this reveal about his character? 3. Why did Gatsby want Daisy to see the house and his clothes? 4. Analyze Daisy’s reaction to seeing Gatsby’s shirts. What do you think she is referring to when she cries, “They’re such beautiful shirts…It makes me sad because I’ve never seen such—such beautiful shirts before” (87). 5.
