The Kingdom Has Come! June 30, 2019 ACTS OF APOSTLES The Kingdom Has Come! June 30, 2019

Acts 2:37~41 Men respond to the charge of sin – verse 37 God’s response to “What shall we do?” Repent and Be Baptized (Immersed) in the name of Jesus Christ For (unto) the forgiveness of sins Also, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit Those that received his word were added to them What is hard to understand about this? Is it because men don’t want to accept it?

Acts 2:42~45 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe (fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed (baptized disciples) were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

Acts 2:46~47 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their (?) number day by day those who were being saved.

Acts 3:1~5 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.

Acts 3:6~10 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”  And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.  And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.  And all the people saw him walking and praising God,  and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Acts 3:11~13 While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s.  And when Peter saw it he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk?  The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him

Acts 3:14~16 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.  And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.

Acts 3:15, 16 Antithesis God glorified Jesus You delivered him to die Pilate wanted to release Him You denied Him to Pilate You denied the Holy One You asked for a murderer You killed author of life God raised Him from the dead! (To this we are witnesses)

Acts 3:17~21 “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Acts 3:19, 20 Acts 2:38 Acts 3:19, 20 Repent Repent Be Baptized Turn Again For the forgiveness of sins Sins may be blotted out Gift of the Holy Spirit Times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord

Acts 3:22, 23 Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’ Deuteronomy 18:15~20

Deuteronomy 18:15~20 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. This is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, so that we will not die!” Then the LORD said to me, “They have spoken well. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. And I will hold accountable anyone who does not listen to My words that that prophet speaks in My name. But if any prophet dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death.”

Acts 3:24~26 Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have proclaimed these days. And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers, when He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

Acts 4:1~4 While Peter and John were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them, greatly disturbed that they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. They seized Peter and John, and because it was already evening, they put them in custody until the next day. But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

Acts 4:5~7 The next day the rulers, elders, and scribes assembled in Jerusalem, along with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and many others from the high priest’s family. They had Peter and John brought in and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?” (Who gave you this authority?)

Acts 4:8~10 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being examined today about a kind service to a man who was lame, to determine how he was healed, then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

Acts 4:8~10 He is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Psalm 118:22 Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
