You need a paper and pen to start with…

Analyse / Evaluate Mark scheme is basically the same. They are looking for: Wide range of knowledge Coherent and logical chains of reasoning Connections between different elements Reasoned judgements fully supported by appraisal of evidence Convincing conclusion which draws together ideas and is justified The difference is that the 20-marker will be based on the same topic as the extract you’ve just clarified. The 30-marker will be on a broader topic, and you have to include links to the other parts of the course (NT, Ethics, Islam).

How do you do this? Make sure you understand the question Think of points on each side Formulate arguments and counter-arguments Use these to come to a conclusion Essay-planning sheet

Here’s an example: Evaluate the extent to which morality relies on religion. You should include links to the New Testament or to the Study of a Religion (30 marks)
