Affiliate members Frequently Asked Questions. What positions can an Affiliate hold in a sub-Branch? What is the 60% rule in relation to Affiliates? Can an Affiliate wear the RSL Badge? Can the sub-Branch change its mind about accepting Affiliate Members? Any position other than sB President or Vice President, DC Delegate or Delegate to Congress 60% refers to the total number of Affiliates allowed on a sB committee i.e. if you have a committee of 10, then up to 6 can be affiliates. It does not refer to the total number of affiliates in the sub-Branch 3. No…..and yes. A person can wear a t-shirt or polo with the badge on if they are performing some duty on behalf of the sub-Branch i.e. selling ANZAC appeal tokens. They are not entitled to wear it in the same manner as a Service membe. 4. Rentons states that a motion can be rescinded however it does not affect anyone who is already an Affiliate Member.

Affiliate members New Affiliate Member process; By-Law 2 items 61 and 62 Need for a nominator and seconder on the application form Reading name and address of prospective Affiliate Member at general meeting of sub-Branch The intent is to bring the process into line with the application process for a Service Member. By Law 2 61. Affiliate Members will be required to fill out an application form, as prescribed by the RSL NSW, which expressly requires the Affiliate Member to agree to be bound by the Constitution of The Returned and Services League of Australia (New South Wales Branch) and any By-Laws and Regulations of RSL NSW and approved ByLaws and rules of the sub-Branch. Such form must be lodged with the sub-Branch Secretary, and each applicant must be nominated by a Service, Life Member or an Affiliate Member, and seconded by a Service, Life Member or an Affiliate Member. 62. The name and address of the person applying to be an Affiliate Member must be read out at a General Meeting of the sub-Branch. If passed by a simple majority, the application may proceed and be dealt with by the Committee of the sub-Branch in the proper manner.
