What We’re Learning in MEDT 7462 Stephen Pate MEDT 7462

Some things that we’ve learned Implementation of Web 2.0 materials into our classroom environments: Blogs Wikis Google Documents Google Calendar Google Reader

Why Web 2.0? I recognize that most of my job is preparing students for the work force It is better to create than to consume Greater student involvement in class while engaging them in technologies they like Web 2.0 is a great way to incorporate higher-order questions and thinking skills

How can Web 2.0 be used Blogs to make class announcements Google docs for professional collaboration Google Calendar for organization Google Reader to keep up with innovations and new ways to teach old materials.

Group Fears How we teach now “works”. What happens if this doesn’t work? Miscellaneous activities already take up our time What if our students don’t like it? Will we have the courage to continue to try if the first few times don’t work?

How do we accomplish this? Continue in the Instructional Technology Program at UWG Look for ways to integrate Web 2.0 into our class projects Ask questions! Get help from our technology savvy colleagues
