Hypothesis

What is the hypothesis? The hypothesis section of the Science Fair tells the reader what is predicted to happen, based on background research. It should look like this: “If (insert brief procedures/ independent variables), then (insert what is expected to be measured for the dependent variable), because (insert background evidence).”

Example “If I place Ant-man in costumes made out of plastic, cotton, or woven steel mesh consisting of unstable molecules, then the suit made out of the woven steel mesh will have the best response to shrinking because the unstable molecules allow the Pym Particles to push the atoms closer together.”

HW Directions: write your hypothesis for your science fair project. Be sure that you are comparing your different test groups as you predict what the outcome of your experiment will be. You may write your hypothesis on the lines below, on a separate sheet of paper, or you may type it. Remember, your final draft will have to be typed and saved to a computer.
