How to get Telework to be Successful Take the opt-out approach to telework eligibility. All employees are eligible to telework until proven otherwise Communicate who is eligible to employees, based on position, performance, and telework environment Telework can take many forms based on job requirements and employee preference Incorporate visual communication technology into telework environment Source: Telework Exchange

How to get Telework to be Successful Management on Board - Managers are eligible as well. Encourage managers to telework – they will see the benefits of telework first hand Managers must look at each employee’s job and performance to determine eligibility Employees have safe alternative workplaces, meet performance expectations, have the access to work remotely, and have positions that are conducive to telework Source: Telework Exchange

The Right Method for the Right Message Why Visual Communication Now? The Right Method for the Right Message When Collaboration Value First meetings, final contracts In Person Most impact Interim meetings Decision-making Expertise Rich media Faster, better decisions Trust Stronger relationships Video INTERACTIVITY PRODUCTIVITY Audio & Web Conferencing Detailed explanations More data A major user benefit of convergence is the ability to quickly and easily choose the right method of communication for the right message Starting with e-mail, which everyone has today, for time-insensitive messages. As you move up to more interactive methods. At the top of the scale is in-person meetings. Nothing will ever take place of one-on-one meeting for the most critical communications, like first meetings, final interviews, and final contracts. Video is the next best thing to an in-person meeting. I shake hands at a first meeting, but follow up discussions are just as impactful over video. Decision-making is much faster and more information is exchanged face-to-face in a video than could ever be possible with audio and data. Experts can be in multiple locations on the same day. Quick, short messages IM Instant Standard communications Voice Familiar Time insensitive messages E-mail Ubiquitous

Being GREEN in Public Sector Global emissions of greenhouse gases caused by transportation increased by 120% while total emissions increased by 70% in the years from 1970 to 2004. Cities will see increased funding opportunities over the coming years by adhering to green policies Video communications is viewed as a green technology California Governor is a huge advocate of going green and utilizes visual communications within their leadership

Being GREEN in Public Sector Visual Communications will reduce travel – reducing CO2 emissions Increase in tele-commuting will result in less traffic Tele-work allows for the support of Green and Business Continuity plans Less people in the office means reduction in power for corporations Reduction in air passengers equals less flights thus reducing CO2 emissions Going green using video has numerous affects as listed above.
