ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey Overal Objectives: Evaluating & benchmarking & developing the agricultural entrepreneur support system in partnering regions Building business skills and increasing value added sustainable production in agricultural sector by informing entrepreneurs about business planning, investment planning, product development, technological applications, sustainable production, value added farming, non-food products, market development, consumer trends, cross sectoral opportunities, direct marketing facilities. Specific objectives: Creating a Mediterranean Chambers Initiative for the development of a better support system for entrepreneurs in agriculture Forming a core consultancy team from chamber SME experts and agricultural researchers 3) Developing and providing a high quality educational support, easy reading informative written materials, one-to-one technical assistance and coaching for agricultural Entrepreneurs 4) Encouraging agri-businessmen to analyse market trends, search for innovative business ideas, better plan their investments, add value to their products and increase productivity and profitability 5) Through missions to EU partner regions and dissemination activities, creating a global/EU vision at local agri-businessmen 6) In order to get competitive advantage, searching about, creating and disseminating new business approaches with the usage of Mediterranean type of agricultural products and geographical values. ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey Main Activities: Establishment of the Project Team and Analysis of the Regional Stakeholders Analysis of the Existing Agricultural Entrepreneur Support System in Turkey Benchmarking Studies with EU Partners and Designing an Improved Support System and Informative Materials for Agricultural Entrepreneurs. (Greece, Spain study visits) Trainings for the Agricultural Entrepreneurs and Dissemination Activities (Italy study visit for entrepreneurs and consultants) Promotion of the Project Results and Creation of a Sustainability Plan ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey TOBB

ETCF-II is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey Expected Results: Communication, coordination will be improved among 7 Mediterranean regions from 3 countries at EU level Chambers will build capacity in supporting agricultural entrepreneurship, one of the major sectors in all partner regions Fragmentation of the agri-business support service providers will be prevented and a synergy between agriculture consultants and SME consultants will be created Cross sectoral knowledge between agricultural business and other sectors such as tourism, cosmetics, energy etc. will be enriched Through analysis of best practices, creation of improved support services and new business models will increase the competitiveness of the sector Awareness will be raised among 100 entrepreneurs by trainings and among many others by distribution of 4000 handbooks and information releases through web sites, e-bulletins, press articles In order to get EU level perspective 15 core staff from partners & associates, 6 business representatives and 15 new entrepreneurs will attend international study visits throughout the project.
