Product Description Product Used: What is it used for? Fidget Spinner There are several uses for this object, for example, many stated that this helps relieve stress while some others use it just as a normal toy.

Activity 6.1a Visual Design Principles and Elements Matrix Visual Analysis

Functional Analysis Inputs Product function Outputs Hand motion Spins Sounds Reduced anxiety/stress 1. What is the purpose or primary function of the object? The purpose of this object is to be a toy for kids and can reduce stress levels. The main function of this object is to spin. 2.Make an educated guess as to how this product operates. Use simple machines’ terminology to explain the object’s sequential operation. I think the object operates with the center ball bearing as its main component. I think a person can use motion energy to spin the object by putting one finger above and one finger blow the middle bearing and then giving the outer parts of the spinner a spin. 3. What mechanical components are visible? The center ball bearing, 3 outer bearings, a plastic skeleton, caps for the center and outer bearings. 4. What is it about this device’s function that you cannot identify because the mechanical components are hidden from plain view? The spinning part of this objects function is something I can’t identify because there are caps on the bearings.

Improvement I would make more of the product out of plastic or a material that won’t hurt if someone were to get hit by it. This is because the original product used steel which can hurt if one got hit by it.
