MEETING CALENDAR: Web-meeting held on January 17th 2019 Meeting held in Rome (IT) on 26 – 27th February 2019 Web-meeting held on May 15th 2019 Meeting TO BE held in Washington-DC (US) on 9 – 10th July 2019

Data Sharing: UK → Reported dryer fire incidents in UK UK LFB data UK Manufacturer Data IT → Reported dryer fire incidents in Italy PL → Recalls from RAPEX DE → Generic data related with domestic fires covering dryers in Germany CA → Generic data of reported fire incidents in Canada CONCLUSION: it was agreed that there is a gap in the standard to cover addressed safety risk with the need of additional requirements/modifications regarding fire hazard on tumble dryers 4 main root causes are found

Root Causes & Clustering: Capacitor: the capacitor issue is also under discussion of WG5 and TC61C. Since it is more cross-product related, if the addressed issue has been solved under WG5, it can be extended also to other categories as much as it is applicable. PCB: this could be also considered as cross product issue, and currently under discussion of WG40. Self combustion: spontaneous combustion due to high temperature and friction of the load inside drum Fluff accumulation: overheating of accumulated fluff which is more related with installation and costumer behaviour

Next Action Items of WG47: Capacitor: The proposal from WG5 covering capacitors is at DC stage (61c/791/DC).The outcomes with compilation of comments of last IEC SC 61C meeting (28 – 29th of May / Vienna) will be presented in Washington meeting. In parallel, IEC TC33 “Power capacitors and their applications” will be contacted and informed to be in line about ongoing studies under WG5 and WG47 PCB: To wait until the stage of CDV approval to have more mature stage of proposal from WG40 In the meantime, WG40 members will inform WG47 about the status accordingly Self combustion & Fluff accumulation: To present some ideas for simulations (especially related with fluff) in Washington meeting by the experts Some studies for; either containing the fluff or covering the parts to be contaminated by fluff by the experts are well appreciated in next Washington meeting The experts are expected to present before/after data (if any) for the past activities related with new clauses that are implemented in their national standards
