However, Austen presents a character, Elizabeth, that does not fit into the perfect description of a woman and how a lady has the ability to be independent and strong-willed. The writer’s purpose is to shift from the establishment to the anti-establishment. “However” needs to be emphasized with purpose. There is a difference between what Austen shows and what Austen says!
