CYC VOLLEYBALL 2015 T – 15 mins Timeline Up Referee (R1) Down Referee (R2) Written Scorekeeper Visual Scoreboard ARRIVAL Sign in on the timesheet / Verify scheduled assignment Review St. Charles Supplemental rulebook in Athletic Folder for age group if needed 20 minutes prior to start of match - Verify Net height for age group: 6’6” – 3rd/4th boys & girls, 5th girls 7’0” – 5th boys & 6th boys & girls 7’4 ¼” – 7th/8th boys & girls - Verify serving box is clearly marked for age group - see Down Ref for Instructions  - Verify appropriate practice balls available and secure Game Ball (VolleyLite for all 3rd/4th/5th grade & 6th girls) Help Down Ref verify serving box is clearly marked for age group 15’ inside from back/net, 10’ from right sideline for 3rd/4th grade 5’ inside back line and 10’ inside right sideline for 5th/6th grade *All grades allowed to serve anywhere behind the end line, within extension of sideline ** 4th graders playing against 5th grade are subject to 5th grade rules Identify appropriate materials are available – scoresheet, lineup sheets, roster check etc. - Turn on electronic scoreboard at main switch board switches #14 & #24 - Verify operation of electronic scoreboard. If it doesn’t work, use flip-score (gray cupboard in gym storeroom) T – 15 mins - Call for Captains & Coaches - Visiting/Away team calls toss - Review gym-specific rules - Ask for a line judge from each team - Hand out Lineup Sheet to coaches - Confirm if teams plan Continuous (mandatory for 5th grade & below) or Player-for-Player Substitution - 7th & 8th must use player for player substitution. - Notify scorekeeper of substitution choices T – 12 mins - Start 2 mins of shared practice. - Notify scorekeeper of toss results Prefill appropriate scoresheet(s) for match (Offset for receiving team) Set clock for 2 min countdown T – 10 mins - Whistle/Signal Serving team gets 4 mins full-court - Instruct both line judges on responsibility (Stand at left corner as close as possible, no eating, drinking or talking) Receiving team - Check CYC ID Cards & Rosters (Keep official roster) - Check uniforms/kneepads - Check jewelry/earrings/wrists 4 min dedicated full-court for Serving team T – 7 mins 1 minute warning for serving team (serve practice) T – 6 mins - Whistle/Signal Receiving team gets 4 mins full-court Serving team 4 min dedicated full-court for Receiving team T – 3 mins - 1 minute warning for receiving team (serve practice) - Collect lineup sheets and give to scorekeepers T – 2 mins Whistle/Signal End of warm up. Call for prayer (host leads) Enter lineup in scoresheet If 3rd/4th grade, set clock to count down 15 mins. If 5th grade or higher, set clock 30 second timeout T – 1 min - Receiving Team Lineup check - Serving Team Lineup check - Pass Game Ball to Server START Whistle start of Match. 8 second Serve Rule Start clock (3rd-4th) once server makes contact with the ball Set 1 2 sets to 25 points, win by 2, cap of 27 (3rd/4th grade to 25 points or 15 mins – Can end in a tie, or win by one point) Provide line up sheets to coaches, Max 2 minutes between sets Lineup sheets to be collected 90 seconds after prior set 3rd/4th grade games timed to 15 mins each (stop clock for timeouts) Set 2 Set 3 Last set to 15 points, win by 2, cap of 17 Home team calls coin toss, inform scorekeepers who has serve No switching of courts halfway through final set Post Match Verify match comments. Prepare Net for next match Ensure Win/Loss scores are filled in All 4 Officials are on scoresheet Signatures from both coaches File Scoresheets, Lineups, Rosters
