PREPARATION Collect your Suprematist work from the drawer, including the tracing you did (if you still require it) 5 minutes

Learning Objectives You will… Learn to develop your compositional skills, responding to the work of the Suprematists. Develop your Suprematist collage. What I’m looking for… You have an understanding of composition, learned from looking at the work of the Suprematist artists. You will be able to adapt your initial collage drawing and add geometric shapes in an effective way to enhance the piece. You are able to use media in different ways in order to start and develop your Suprematist collage.

5 minutes THINKING BACK TO THE WORK OF THE SUPREMATISTS AND THEIR USE OF GEOMETRIC SHAPES… WHY WOULD IT BE NECESSARY TO INCLUDE SOME SHAPES ON YOUR WORK, WHAT WOULD IT ADD TO YOUR PIECE? BALANCE!!

Draw these on using a ruler and a HB pencil. 20 minutes Look carefully at your piece and decide where you think some additional shapes and lines might help to improve and balance your work. Draw these on using a ruler and a HB pencil.

You are allowed to use just 2 colours to enhance your piece further. 5 minutes Now you need to think back to all of the techniques that you have learned in the ‘media experimentation’ project and also include the large-scale experimental pieces too. Using different media and technique, apply these into the different sections of your Suprematist collage…think about the background too!! You are allowed to use just 2 colours to enhance your piece further.

2 hours
