A loaded question on SPENDING money: Are you willing to take an honest look at your spending habits – AND make any necessary changes to align your spending with God’s heart? Be thankful. Ask. Think (differently). Decide.

Be thankful: God gives us wealth and possessions for our enjoyment! Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil – this is a gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:19 Put your hope in God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.   1 Timothy 6:17

Ask: Do I love money and stuff? Am I being greedy? Am I content? Watch out and be on guard against all greed because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions. Jesus, Luke 12:15 Your lives should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have for He Himself has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Think (differently): I’m spending God’s money, not my money. The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. Psalm 24:1 Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father. James 1:17

Think (differently): I’m spending God’s money, not my money. You may say to yourself, “My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,” but remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth…. Deuteronomy 8:17-18

Be thankful: God gives us wealth and possessions for our enjoyment! Ask: Do I love money and stuff? Am I being greedy? Think (differently): I’m spending God’s money, not mine. Decide: I will generously spend on God first. Then I will spend on me.
