As a referrer to this service, we would appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete this short survey about this BRCA service – your feedback is important and will help us to ascertain whether we are providing a good quality service, and how we can improve in the future

Survey sent on 12/09/2017 to 12 gynaecological cancer referrers deadline was 29/09/2017 reminder was sent out on 25/09/2017 Responses – 3 received (25% response rate) Unless indicated otherwise response options were: Poor, Below average, Average, Good, Excellent, N/A

Q2 – How would you rate the quality and clinical usefulness of the BRCA reports that you receive from the laboratory? Good, Excellent, Excellent

Q3 – the turnaround time (TAT) for BRCA results is 8 weeks – how would you rate the performance of the laboratory in delivering this TAT? Good, Good, Good

Excellent, Excellent, Good Comment from respondent 2: Much better to have only one but wasn’t aware of the change until moved to Swansea.

Q6 – are you aware that there is now a funded service available for Welsh patients to perform a BRCA screen on tumour tissue? Response option No. of times selected Yes, and have used 2 Yes, but have not used 1 No Comment from responder 2: Thought this was being done automatically on all germline patients – is this not the case?

Q7 – Are there any additional services we could offer in this area? All 3 skipped this question

Q8 – Any comments in relation to any of the questions, the BRCA service in general or any improvements Responder 1: Thank you for providing this very important service and for dropping the age cut-off

Summary, Conclusions and Actions No ratings lower than ‘Good’ No current desire for expanded service from this user group Consider options for advising of received/ongoing cases Advise clinician 2 that tumour testing is not automatic (Improve TATs)
