Self Fulfilling Prophecy Section 1

Self Fulfilling prophecy The meaning of the self fulfilling prophecy is that if you believe something even if it may be wrong, you make it happen. For instance ,there was a joke told by Johnny Carson that stated there was a shortage of toilet paper. Some people believed him and went to buy as much toilet paper as they could. Because of this, there was really a shortage.

Taking Advantage of the Prophecy Business people, teachers, and sales associates all use it to their advantage.

Positive and Negative Effects Positive Effects Negative Effects Being able to sell something you couldn’t usually sell. Telling kids they are smart to make them do well in school. Buying something cheap that you believed was good. Making excuses for why something bad happened and actually starting to believe them.

Getting your Creative License Section 2

Are You Creative? Please check one Yes No

Differences Between Non-Creatives and Creatives People who checked the ‘No Box’ are usually less creative than the people who checked the other one. They don’t think that they are creative and they don’t give themselves a chance to be creative, so in the end they really aren’t.

Non-Creatives These are the people who never think beyond,or outside the box. These are usually the people who strive low and don’t really care. Inside the box

Creatives They are people who tell themselves they are creative, and even if they aren’t, they still tell themselves they are to give themselves a chance. Outside the box

Building Ideas Every business person starts out with a small idea and then builds on it. The ideas grow and get more creative as they go along with them. The creative person has faith that the ideas will become bigger and better.

Summary If you want to be more creative, then believe in your small ideas and keep on trying to make them bigger and better. You will take more risks and break the rules look for more than one right answer explore for ideas outside your area be foolish sometimes play a little bit ask some “what if” questions and be motivated to go beyond.
