Social Security Card Application Know Why You Need SSN

Know Why You Need SS Card You can use your social security number in various ways, but before making application must be well aware of the usefullness of SSN.

Opening bank accounts SSN is used to check your credit, to report your interest and investment income or losses to the IRS, to report your tax- deductible mortgage interest to the IRS, and to manage your account.

Apply for a federal loan For applying for federal student loans you need to check citizenship or visitor status using SSN. The government will use your Social Security number to Identify whether you’re eligible when you apply for a federal loan

Public assistance Programs Social security administration uses SSN for unemployment programs and other social security disability benefits whether they are SSDI or SSI to check the identity of people for the benefits they have entitled for.

Medicare Enrollment Centers of medical and medicare collabortes with social security administration to provide Medicare A,B,C,D benefits which includes medical expenses, hospital expenses and many others.

Tax Filing The IRS uses this number to match the income you report on your tax return to the income your employer and financial institutions have filed on your behalf. Also, you’ll need to provide your child’s SSN to claim your child as a dependent on your tax return.

Passport Application This number plays an important role when you have to apply for passport. You have to present it otherwise your application is likely to delay or you will be charged with $500 fine.
