GETTING IT RIGHT FOR EVERY CHILD (GIRFEC) GIRFEC underpins all work with children and families in Scotland We will have a duty to promote, safeguard and protect the wellbeing of all children GIRFEC is now law – Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014: Part 4 Named Person Part 5 Child’s Plan Part 18 Wellbeing Assessment

WELLBEING – EVERYTHING WE DO IS ABOUT IMPROVING OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN SHANARRI – 8 wellbeing indicators All education staff ask “what is getting in the way of this child’s wellbeing?” Common language – all services use this language and assessment Strategic plans are underpinned by GIRFEC.
