Internship Requirements HEDU 4420 North Carolina Central University Dept of Public Health Education

Internship Requirement Work under the supervision of a professionally prepared health educator, who has a master’s degree in health education or 5 years of experience & CHES Complete 8 weeks Earn 320 hours

Intern’s Activities Complete Policy Agreement Form Complete daily logs & weekly summaries Conduct mini needs assessment Make at least one presentation Attend at least 2 community meetings Attend at least one conference or workshop

Intern’s Activities Produce 1-2 forms of media Collaborate with 2 health professionals, one must not be a health educator Complete a special project Complete a final report Develop a Power Point presentation of internship experience for exit interview Develop a portfolio (include materials from internship)

Preceptor’s Requirements Review & sign Policy Agreement Form Supervise the activities of intern Develop a work plan with intern Complete 3 evaluations of intern Week 2, mid-term, & final Guide intern in the development of special project Review intern’s weekly summaries
