The BBI and the WestMED initiative The WestMED Hackatons held in Palermo on May 14, 2019 represent the contribution of the Initiative to the Sommet des Deux Rives by providing relevant project ideas which fulfil existing gaps in addressing strategic challenges and opportunities for the Blue Economy in the two shores of the Mediterranean. Identified relevant project ideas by the WestMED Initiative (Fight of Illegal Unreported and Unregulated Fishing, Sustainable Aquaculture, Marine Litter, Clean Maritime Transport, Marine Clusters and Blue Tourism)
