What Is Floor Plan? Linesgraph

Definition Of A Floor Plan A floor plan is a top view sketch which shows us the relationship between the different rooms, spaces and other physical features at the particular level of a structure. (or) A Floor plan is typically a drawing that illustrate the location of walls, windows, doors, stairs, as well as fixed installations such as bathroom Fittings, kitchen cabinetry, and appliances. These plans are usually drawn to scale and indicate room types, room sizes, and wall lengths. They may also show furniture layouts and include outdoor areas to make the plan even more effective..

What is Showcased in a Floor plan A floor plan is usually used to showcase the following information: 1. Interior Walls and Hallways 2. Restrooms, Closets & storage areas 3. Placement and directions of the Doors & windows 4. Appliances such as Stoves, Refrigerators, Water heater, Dish washer, Washer & Dryer, etc 5. The name of the room/ Purpose of the space 6. Symbols for electronic items 7. Dimensions of the space

Types Of Floor Plan Open Floor Plan: A Open floor plan Is a modern trend that started around 1990's, An open floor plan refers to a house in which 2 or more traditionally used spaces are joined together to form a much larger space by eliminating a couple of partition walls. The most common open floor plan configurations are: 1. Kitchen & Dining room 2. Dining room and Living room 3. Kitchen, Dining & Living room Closed Floor plan: A Closed floor plan is a more traditional layout design in which there are separate rooms for dining, socializing, work etc.

Open Floor Plan Closed Floor plan

Uses of a Floor Plan 1. Presentation purpose 2. Facilitates faster decision making 3. Easy Visualization for everyone 4. They aid the construction of the new house

Conclusion Atlast, Floor Plan is a very vast topic we are not completely done with it! This is just the beginning to learn more about this field of Service! Follow us for more details on the Subject! Tip: Note that in this presentation we are not talking about actual architectural services but about a small portion of it which is Floor plan. A floor plan Designer or Service provider need not mandatorily be an Architect. If you thought they both are same then you are out for a big surprise!
