1:1-11 Third Person 1:12-12:8 First Person 12:9 -14 Third person Ecclesiastes 1 1:1-11 Third Person  1:12-12:8 First Person  12:9 -14 Third person  12:8 Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.      1:2Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher,         vanity of vanities! All is vanity. 

Ecclesiastes 12 9 Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care. 10 The Preacher sought to find words of delight, and uprightly he wrote words of truth.  

Ecclesiastes 12 11 The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd. 12 My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Ecclesiastes 12 13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Proverbs 9:10 -The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

How to avoid a meaningless life: 2. Seek Wisdom not just knowledge  Ecclesiastes 12:12 - My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

How to avoid a meaningless life: 3. Be a Steward  Ecclesiastes 11:6 - In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.

How to avoid a meaningless life: 4. Worship the Creator not the creation      Ecclesiastes 6:9 - Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the appetite: this also is vanity and a striving after wind.
