Presentation transcript:

David Carson. Nu Collage. Icons of Design Objective: To show your understanding of composition, colour theory & conceptual thinking. Your first project in Graphics will revolve around Icons of Graphic Design. There are few designers of the last decade as influential as David Carson. In his newest series of work he explores the use of found ephemera to create collages that reflect a time or event in his life. Your summer task is to create a series of three collages (minimum size A4 – but go bigger if you can!) that reflect you or your summer. They could illustrate your whole summer, an event in the summer, how the end of exams started your summer off, or about you as a person. What will be important will be where you gather the resources from to create your designs, start collecting, finding, tearing pieces off of things asap! Consider the colours that you are using and how they reflect the mood of the work. A summer festival for eg might be full of oranges and yellows to show sunshine and happiness. Consider the typography.
