Should animal testing be banned? Manuel Bascolo

About myself Manuel Bascolo From Argentina Came to the USA in December 2015 Worked 2 years in a nonprofit health organization back home Student of Industrial Engineering Interested in social issues and politics

How is animal testing connected to the topic of the program “Building a Culture of Respect”? According to the UNECO, "[Culture] is that complex whole which includes knowledge, beliefs, arts, morals, laws, customs(…)” A culture of respect would be also a place where people with different different knowledge, beliefs and morals listen respectfully each other Building a culture of respect will help us to decrease the social conflict and animal testing has became a social issue during the last years.

Animal testing: Social Issue The opposition to animal testing has increased significantly during the last years and believe that” It is cruel Ineffective Expensive Should be replaced by new technologies.

Animal testing: Social Issue On the other hand, most of the Scientifics take a different position about this topic arguing that: Animal testing has been historically essential for the medical advance State examples of medicines that had not been tested by animals before and that killed people Agree that animal testing has to be regulated by the government.

I believe that making researches, looking forward for different point of view and analyzing objectively the facts of both sides help us to build a culture of respect. Thank you
