What living things and non-living things can you see? Animals, humans and plants are living things. A bike, a boat and a plane are non-living things.

What do living things need? What do they all do? Living things need food, water and air. All living things are born, grow and die.

What three life processes do all living things have? Nutrition, interaction and reproduction

What do animals eat? Foto panda, bee and pig p. 6 Animals eat other living things. Some animals eat plants. Some animals eat plants and animals. Some eat animals. 5

How do animals react to their environment? Turtle/eagle/cheetah p. 6 Animals move around. Some swim, some fly and some run. Animals make sounds to communicate with other animals. 6

How do animals reproduce? Duck /calf p. 7 Some animals are born from eggs. Other animals are born directly from their mothers. 7

How do humans interact? 2 photos bottom of page 8 Humans move around. They live and work in groups. Humans communicate by touching, talking and writing. 8

How do plants make their own food? They use sunlight, air, water and nutrients from the soil. 9

How do plants interact? 2 photos bottom of page 10 They can’t move around, but they can move their parts. Sunflowers face the Sun. Roots grow towards water. 10

How do plants reproduce? Many plants make seeds. Seeds grow into new plants. Some plants grow a new plant from their parts. 11

Which actions are good and bad for living things? 4 photos p. 11 Watering plants and taking your pet to the vet are good. Touching a bird’s nest and picking wild flowers are bad. 12

What have we learnt? Living things can be humans animals plants
