Parent/Guardian Information 1:1 Mobile Learning Parent/Guardian Information The Clymer Central School District (CCSD) enhances our students’ learning environment by providing iPads and Chromebooks to each student K-12. Digital resources in the classrooms help with: Strengthening the 21st century skills necessary for future success Improving students’ learning with a variety of resources that support the curriculum Helping to promote self-direction Better communication between teachers and students through instant feedback via online programs COST: There is no cost to families for use of a district device. CCSD is pursuing an optional insurance program at this time. If damaged intentionally, the Administration reserves the right to right to pursue disciplinary action. GOOGLE: CCSD is a G Suite School. Each student, in grades 5-12, have a secure School Google email that teachers can use to assign work. Using Google lets our instructors and students interact better. Google Classroom, Drive, Doc, Sheets, etc. are easy to use and can allow instant feedback on a student’s work. No more paper and excuses of “I lost my work” .

Because CCSD is a Google based school, if a student forgets their device at home, they are able to borrow an extra device for the day. DAMAGED/LOST/STOLEN: A student should report ANY damage to the Tech Dep immediately. School- issued devices can be tracked if lost. If stolen, it must be reported to administration immediately. CHARGING;: Charging is done at home. If “life happens” and the student is not able to charge their device at night, the Tech Dep will loan a charger for the day. Each device will be issued with one charger. If it breaks, students may exchange it for a new one. If lost, students will be responsible for a new one. (An additional one WILL NOT be issued.) ACCESSORIES: Each device has a protective case on it. These cases help reduce breakage. CCSD has external keyboards for iPad users. Headphones\earbuds may be required by classroom teachers. CCSD does not provide them. Home WIFI: Home WIFI is helpful but not necessary. Students will need to download and save digital assignments before leaving the building. They will need to let their teacher know that the assignment can not be turned in until they re- enter the building. TURN IN: Student are required to turn in the device along with school issued: case, charger/block, keyboard (if applicable). If the charger/block is not turned in, the student will not be issued another one the following school year. CCS PROUD Home of the Pirates
