Work Ethic Distinction 20 companies were consulted on their most pressing needs concerning an available and trained workforce. The Work Ethics Distinction will enhance high school seniors’ employability while fostering soft skill development. All seniors are eligible for the Work Ethics Distinction. Earning a Work Ethic Distinction and meeting job related requirements will guarantee an interview with participating Rutherford County employers
Requirements Absences Tardiness Discipline Overall GPA ACT Work Keys ACT Score CTE Coursework (Freshman – Senior year) Dual Enrollment/Credit Drug Screen Industry Certification CTE Competition (verified by CTE teacher) Industry Awareness (job shadowing, field trips, work-based learning through CTE classes or RW internship) TN Promise (eligible) Enrollment in Post-secondary Community Service
Student Responsibilities Attach all supporting documents Must earn a minimum of 20 points out of 45 points and a regular high school diploma. Qualified applicants- check for your status mid-April Optional: Purchase a cord to wear at graduation (to be ordered through high school) Documentation will be returned to you by the end of the school year Turn in WED application to your high school contact by deadline March 23, 2020.
