Bell work week 8: in your binder Monday 10/21/13 Agenda Objective: We will generate improved essays using sentence formulas. Language: We will write in complete sentences. Bell work week 8: in your binder -Write the MLA heading on your bell work paper. Today is October 21, 2013. -Pair share your response with your neighbor when finished. Good News: share appropriate, good news from your weekend. Essays: returned, look at rubric (in writing resources) to understand score Sentence Formulas: simple sentence notes (in writing resources) Revise: due Tuesday or Thursday (if you come to Weds. Tutoring) -make corrections, fix mistakes, add information, change organization to improve essay grade, meet with Ms. Martin to discuss, and turn in final version

Simple Sentence Formulas A sentence must have a subject and a verb. A complete sentence is an independent clause. An independent clause is a complete thought that can stand alone. Simple Sentence Formulas: SV SSV SVV SSVV EXAMPLES: John walks to school. Bob and John walk to school. Bob smiles and laughs with his friends. Bob and John are friends and play video games together.
