The types of influenza There are three types of influenza: the A and B virus cause seasonal epidemics almost every winter. Type C causes respiratory sickness but it does not cause epidemics.
The disease The flu is a contagious sickness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause a small to dramatic sickness and sometimes can cause death.
Symptoms Fever Headache Tiredness (can be very extreme) Cough Sore throat Runny or stuffy nose Body aches Diarrhea and vomiting (more among kids the adults)
Prevention The best way to prevent this sickness is by getting the flu vaccine yearly. Antiviral drugs are also good to take to prevent this sickness.
Facts Every year in the United States an average of 5-20 percent of the countries population gets the flu. The number of people hospitalized from the flu exceeds more the 200,000 patients a year, and around 36,000 die from this sickness.
More facts The flu season mostly begins when weather is cold mostly around winter or fall. There’s not really a reason why it happens it just occurs because of the characteristics of the flu and the timing of the seasons. .
