Angeliz Martinez and Jonathan Morel American Eel Angeliz Martinez and Jonathan Morel Hello welcome we are from Global Learning Charter Public School my name is Jonathan and Angeliz today we will be presenting on the American Eel

What is a Diadromous fish? Catadromous A Diadromous fish is a fish that spends most of their life cycles in fresh water than migrates into salt water. Catadromous Fish lives in freshwater and enters salt water to spawn.

Our Poster This poster shows some Information about the American Eel. The American eel is around 8.9lbs and 20in. They eat fishes , frogs, incests, clams, worms . Pattern - freshwater migrate to the ocean spawn then go to the freshwater.

What are the threats to the American Eel? The goal of migration is to reproduce and grow from a little eel to a big eel. Some threats to the American Eel species are somethings like Barrier migration which is a threat because it needs to mature and reproduce a barrier makes it stop and blocking their path so they can’t get to the place they need, Climate Change is a threat because they need a certain temperature to live, this causes them to die, Parasites are threats because they kill of different species, and Diseases are threats because it weakens their immune system and kills them.

Field Study Connection (Dam Restoration)

How can we help the fishes? He can help them by knowing how high or low the water temperature . Another way can be by keeping the water clean.
