The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE indicates continuing action, something going on now. This tense is formed with the helping "to be" verb, in the present tense, He is running.

The present progressive can suggest that an action is going to happen in the future, The hurricane is making landfall tomorrow at 6pm. Because the present progressive can suggest either the present or the future, it is usually modified by adverbs of time.

Present Progressive = Subject + be+ verb + ing I am walking He/She/It is walking They are walking We are walking

Present Continuous Review We use present continuous to talk about something that is happening at the time of speaking. The action is not finished. The water is flooding my house. What is happening?

We use present continuous to talk about temporary situations. I 'm living in a relief shelter. Why is she sleeping in a tent?

2. We use present continuous to talk about changing situations. The hurricane is getting closer and closer every day. The weather's getting warmer.

5. We use present continuous with words such as always to talk about things that happen repeatedly (sometimes to say that something is irritating or annoying). She's always talking about how dangerous tornadoes are.

6. We use present continuous to talk about future arrangements. I'm moving to a new house tomorrow.

7. When we are talking about how someone looks or feels, we can use present continuous or present simple. How are you feeling? / How do you feel? Jenny is looking really good today? / Jenny looks really good today.
