The Sumerian Social Pyramid or Hierarchy

First – Draw a Triangle on your paper

Divide it into 6 sections. This the top dog. He’s in charge of everyone and everything. KING This person has to keep the gods happy and is the only one that can go into the temple where the god resides. Divide it into 6 sections. Priests These people keep the records of the city-state. Government officials and scribes These people trade products at the city gates or between regions. Merchants, traders These people work in the fields. Farmers, Laborers These people work for others or work off debts. Slaves SUMERIAN SOCIAL PYRAMID (SOCIAL HIERARCHY)
