Purpose To advertise an event, a product or service To inform people To raise awareness/influence attitudes/change behaviour patterns To report the findings of a research To present a project

Types of posters Advertising posters - Advertise or promote a product, service or event Propaganda posters - Convey a political message/philosophy; portray a company’s corporate philosophy

Types of posters Informative posters - Spread awareness and information Subject posters - Have a specific subject as the focus of their design, e.g. a “band poster”, an “artist poster”, etc.

Types of posters Affirmation posters - Convey motivational and inspirational messages Educational posters - Promote and explain research work Health posters - Communicate preventive health care

Poster presentation A means of promoting a product, reporting findings or presenting an argument to an audience in a clear, concise, graphic format. Important part of many seminars, exhibitions, congresses and conferences. Ideal for presentations where time is limited.
