Research in Practice Development Officer A role in our core team, supporting evidence-informed practice in the adults social care sector. WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills Ability to use own initiative, working both independently and as part of a team Ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with external organisations Critical appraisal of research studies, and ability to distil key messages to support practice Skills in coproduction, knowledge exchange and evidence implementation Willingness to contribute to the ongoing development of our business Excellent organisational and time management skills Ability to operate within budgets Good ICT skills Knowledge Understanding of the principles of evidence-informed practice Good knowledge of practice, policy and/or research in relation to child & family and/or adult social care Good knowledge of the theory and challenges surrounding knowledge transfer and research utilisation in practice Experience: Previous relevant experience might include: Supporting organisational development/improvement/learning Providing support to enable the use of evidence Providing support for research methods and research design Practice experience in child or adult social care A commitment to work within the ethics and values and best interests of Research in Practice and the Dartington Hall Trust, at all times. ROLE DETAILS: DEPARTMENT: Research in Practice REPORTING TO: Research & Development Manager SOME OF THE MAIN THINGS YOU’LL BE DOING: Developing resources: Creative and challenging work which includes: leading on content development for outputs such as publications, learning events, webinars, podcasts. Scoping topics; identifying and working with experts from research, practice and lived experience; quality assuring draft materials to bring excellent outputs to our practice networks. Knowledge mobilisation: Act as the primary point of contact with practice partners. Building relationships and providing ongoing, high quality and proactive support to enable them to make the best use of Research in Practice resources and services. Maintaining regular contact with key people in Partner organisations, listening and responding to practice and organisational concerns. Project work: Exciting and varied opportunities to work with our team in developing bids, engaging in evaluation projects, writing for publication, developing policy engagement. This list can never be exhaustive but covers most of the work you’ll be doing. Underlying all, we’re seeking talent, initiative and a commitment to building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service.
