What is Title I? Title I is a federal program that provides funding for academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with high percentages of socioeconomically disadvantaged children. The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet state academic standards.

Title I Parent Meeting Powerpoint Attachment 4 Title I Federal Funds Schools are allocated Title I funds on the basis of the percentage of students eligible for free/reduced lunch. Schools in Utah receive school-wide Title I support if forty percent (40%) or more of the student population is eligible for free or reduced lunch. Below 40%, Utah schools receive Title 1 targeted assistance. Entheos Academy receives Targeted Assistance Title 1 funds.

Federal Funds Continued: Approximately one percent (1%) of a school’s total Title I budget is for parent involvement activities. Funds must supplement, not supplant, district funds.

Parent Rights Participate in meetings and trainings. Review teacher qualifications. Review the school’s achievement data. Review the parent involvement plan. Review the Title I Parent Involvement Policy and Parent-School Compact.

Parent Involvement at our School There are many ways that parents can be involved at Entheos Academy including: Attending school events such as Student Led Conferences and Celebrations of Learning. Signing up with one of our “Parent Crews”. As a charter school, we hope that our parents will donate 30 volunteer hours per family. Staying informed of your child’s progress through checking Mastery Connect on a regular basis and communicating with teachers. Helping your child be consistent and timely with attendance and homework completion.

Parent Involvement Continued… Help with Discovery classes Provide tutoring Be an expert/panelist in a presentation of learning Help with field work and overnight trips General classroom assistance Support with service learning

Entheos Achievement Goal Through Expedition centered reading, writing, and math, student achievement scores will improve in growth by 6%, by the end of the school year.

How Title 1 Money Supports this Goal Entheos uses Title 1 money to help pay for paraprofessionals in the classrooms. Having Paraprofessionals means that students who need extra help, can receive more personalized instruction.
