ICT related Universities in Myanmar All Myanmar universities are funded by the government, which retains financial powers over the institutions. There are 27 IT related universities around the country. Research and Education Network Myanmar Research and Education Network (mmREN) at UCSY Since 2012, UCSY has contributed to establishing mmREN that is set to become a digital platform for all universities in the country In 24th Dec 2018, The Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN), a dedicated high-capacity research and education network in the Asia-Pacific region, has recently connected the Myanmar Research and Education Network (mmREN) at a capacity of 45 Mbps Number of member institutions to connection to mmREN : 13 Ref: http://www.tein.asia/sub/?mc=6010&idx=2260&a=view http://www.ucsy.edu.mm/page102.do

Academic Cloud Platform Establishing the Pilot Cloud Platform for IT related universities 5 universities are connected via IP-VPN in J3 Project, 2016 10 universities are connected via IP-VPN in Cat-II Project, 2017 Deploying the cloud services for education and administration Established the broadband network and deployed the cloud and applications (Samba: file sharing and Moodle: LMS) on Virtual Machines Infrastructure sharing E-learning lecture implementation
J3 Expansion Project in UCS (Taunggyi) Replica Cloud Project Trial to create Replica Cloud and additional 4 connection to the Universities of Computer Studies in Lasio, Meikhtila, Pinlon, and Loikaw with additional financial support from KDDI foundation and skill transfer from UIT and member UCSs to other UCSs Total 20 universities are connected to UIT’s academic cloud via IP-VPN
