Objectives and Priorities Project duration: 01/2017 – 12/2019 (36 months) DTP Priority: PA4. Well governed Danube Region DTP Specific Objective: SO4.2 Support to the Governance and Implementation of the EUSDR Project partners: Ministry of Education, Research and Sport (SK) – ERDF and University of Belgrade (RS) – IPA Main aim according to the Call announcement: „improving the governance system and the capabilities and capacities of public institutions and key actors involved in complex transnational project development to implement the EUSDR in a more effective way“ XVII PA7 Steering Group Meeting 11 June 2019, Vienna

Methodological Approach Main objective of the project: "to ensure the implementation of a stable and effective governance system for PA7“ Main specific objectives: to support the SG in implementing EUSDR to support communication and growing visibility of PA7 and dissemination of PA`s achievement to enhance coordination between PA`s actors and to encourage involvement of key stakeholders in key PA7 activities Work packages: WP1: Management, Publicity and Communication WP 2: Policy Development WP 3: Cooperation and Coordination XVII PA7 Steering Group Meeting 11 June 2019, Vienna

Main achievements Providing support to the SG members (organization of 2 SGMs and a Capitalization workshop with TP 2); enhancing the visibility of PA7 and EUSDR by drafting the PA7 communication strategy; enabling organisation of COST- Connect event; supporting networking and involvement of PA7 stakeholders. Drafting 2 Policy Papers with a high political impact as the main results of 2nd project period: 1) Position paper on reducing remuneration gap of researchers within the next Framework programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe; 2) the joint proposal „Better embedding of the EUSDR’s prosperity pillar into suitable funding instruments within the new MFF“. Launched online public consultation on Revision of the PA7 actions. Cooperation and coordination activities - support to the DFCN activities; cooperation with PA4, PA8 and PA9 on cooperation with thematic poles of DTP Capitalisation Strategy; continuation of the multilateral call for mobility between 4 DR countries in 2019. WP 2: Policy Development Position paper on reducing remuneration gaps for researchers’ remuneration in the upcoming EU-funding period after 2020 (particularly in Horizon Europe) Joint proposal with PA8 and PA9: „Better embedding of the EUSDR’s prosperity pillar into suitable funding instruments within the new MFF“ collaborating with other PAs (mainly with PA9 and PA10) together with DTP Capitalisation Strategy - TP leaders (TP1, TP2, TP3 and TP4) regarding EUSDR policy area improvement and development. MINEDU cooperated with the representatives of DRC and the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information regarding future analysis and policy recommendations. Cooperation with JRC on RIS3 development Promotion of macroregional cooperation at various events at the EU level (ERAC, SFIC, V4+ platform, SC PC H2020, JRC, etc.) XVII PA7 Steering Group Meeting 11 June 2019, Vienna

WP 3: Cooperation and Coordination Support to DFCN meetings and cooperation with different programmes and associations (DRC, COST Association and H2020 supporting structures). COST Connect, Sustainable Energy in the Danube Region, workshop in Belgrade (October 2018) Cooperation with PA8 and PA9 in preparing joint proposal Cooperation with the TPs of the DTP Capitalisation Strategy in order to enhance links between the TP members and PACs, and thus ensure knowledge transfer within the prospective poles and to use individual project outputs within a broader group of stakeholders. Danube Participation Day attended – Researchers Perspective Participation at various capitalization, cross-fertilization & policy dialogues events. Cooperation and coordination activities of PA7 in 2018 led to preparation of the multilateral call for researchers’ mobility between 4 DR countries that should be implemented in 2019.
