SB 490 Counselors- Background SB 490, which was passed during the 85th Legislative session (2017), amends TEC 42.006 (a-2) to require the reporting of information regarding the availability of school counselors (ROLE-ID 008) at each campus.

SB 490 TSDS PEIMS Data Changes The reporting of E1057 MONTHLY-MINUTES will be applicable for counselors (ROLE-ID 008) in the 2018-2019 school year on the StaffResponsibilitiesExtension complex type to accomplish the requirement of SB 490. Business validations have been updated to allow counselors to be reported with the MONTHLY-MINUTES data element (E1057).

Reason for revision: Removed “instructional” from the business meaning in order to include counselors (Role ID 008) to report MONTHLY-MINUTES (E1057).
